The FIA European Rally Championship event, BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia, can now present a new Shakedown and Qualifying Stage that will kick off the rally festivities on Thursday. The Galtryggen stage, which is 4.64 kilometers long, will determine the starting positions for the rally.
After the permit for the planned Bäck-Hult stage was appealed and approved, the rally organization, together with the relevant authorities, worked hard to find a solution, and now all the pieces have fallen into place for a new stage.
Galtryggen, measuring 4.64 kilometers, runs between Skattkärr and the northern end of Lake Alstern – Just east of Karlstad. This is where the drivers and teams will have their last full-speed test before the rally, and it is also here that the Qualifying Stage will be held to determine the starting positions for the rally.
Free practice starts at 11:00 and runs until 13:30, the Qualifying Stage starts at 14:01, and the Shakedown at 15:00. During free practice, the top drivers in the top ERC crews will practice for the Qualifying Stage, where the ERC1 cars will compete for the starting positions. During the Shakedown, all cars will have their last full-speed tests before the rally.

“We are very grateful to have found this solution in such a short time. Galtryggen matches the character of the other stages well and will be a perfect shakedown for the competitors,” says the race director Stig-Rune Kjernsli.
“I want to extend a big thank you to the Swedish Transport Administration, the Police, and the County Administrative Board of Värmland who helped us resolve this in record time. They have truly done their utmost for us,” says the rally’s CEO Glenn Olsson.
