MILLE JOHANSSON AIMS HIGH IN JUNIOR ERC

After his victory in the Junior WRC at Rally Sweden in February, 18-year-old Mille Johansson is now setting his sights on the gold in Junior ERC 2024, alongside navigator Johan Grönvall from Arvika.

Mille Johansson from Katrineholm made his debut in Junior ERC in 2023, driving for the IK Sport team from Slovenia. Mille and Johan Grönvall started the season in a Ford Fiesta Rally4, but switched to an Opel Corsa for the final in Hungary.

The ERC season ended with an 8th place in the standings after a season plagued by technical issues and numerous punctures. For the 2024 season, Mille and Johan are aiming for gold.

In the BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia 2023, Mille and Johan challenged for podium positions, finishing fifth after winning the closing Power Stage.

“I’m looking forward to this year’s FIA ERC season. There are many new events that we have no experience from, and the field looks really competitive. We will complete a full season in a brand-new Opel Corsa and continue our great partnership with IKsport. We will also get to drive the Opel on gravel, which we haven’t done before,” says Mille.

“One of the highlights of this year is the Royal Rally of Scandinavia at home in Sweden. We had good pace there last year, and this year it feels like we have built up even more speed. It’s always fun to compete in Sweden with great support from the crowd, and it feels like it gives an extra boost in confidence.”
