Junior Champ Mille Johansson steps up to the FIA ERC top class

19-year-old Mille Johansson and his co-driver from Värmland, Johan Grönvall, put Sweden on the rally map in 2024 by securing the FIA Junior European Rally Championship (Junior ERC) title. On their way to the gold, they claimed victory at the BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia. Now, it’s confirmed that the year’s rising star will return to Karlstad in 2025 to compete in the top class.

Mille and Johan will participate in six FIA European Rally Championship (ERC) events in the top category, driving a Škoda Fabia Rally2 with the Italian team MS Munaretto. One of the highlighted events in their schedule is, of course, the BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia, taking place from May 29-31, 2025. Additionally, they will compete in the full FIA Junior WRC season, a reward for winning the Junior ERC title.

Mille follows in the footsteps of Isak Reiersen, who won the junior category at the BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia in 2023 and stepped up to the top class in this year’s competition.

“It feels incredible to move up to Rally2 already next year, and to do it with MS Munaretto, a team we’ve been in contact with over the past year. Our main focus will be the Junior WRC, but between those events, we want to maximize our seat time, and we’ll achieve that with our new team and Pirelli. We have a packed schedule for 2025 beyond the Junior WRC, all aimed at preparing thoroughly for 2026. Next year will be a learning year as we focus on mastering Rally2 on both gravel and asphalt, with the Junior WRC title as our ultimate goal,” says Mille Johansson.

“We’ve always been passionate about discovering new talent, and we’re thrilled to welcome Mille and Johan to our team. We see immense potential in them and want to do everything we can to support Mille on his journey to becoming a professional driver. We are fully committed to working closely with Mille and Johan to help them achieve their goals,” says Alex Munaretto, Team Principal of MS Munaretto.
