New three-year deal with FIA ERC – 2026 dates confirmed

The Swedish round of the FIA European Rally Championship, BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia, has signed a new three-year agreement with WRC Promoter to remain on the FIA European Rally Championship calendar from 2026 to 2028.

The 2026 edition of the event will be based in Karlstad and take place from Friday 22 May to Sunday 24 May.

Since its debut in 2023, BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia has established itself as one of the most popular events in the ERC calendar, known for its fast stages and top-level organisation. The 2025 edition attracted a large crowd, 33 international ERC competitors, and more than 100 national crews in the Swedish Championship – all set against a backdrop of high-speed action and a sun-soaked festival atmosphere in Karlstad and Värmland.

The agreement means Sweden will continue to host a round of the ERC alongside the WRC rally in Umeå and a world-class national championship – a unique position in the global rally landscape.

“This is both a confirmation of what we’ve built and a fantastic opportunity to further develop the event. In just a few years, the rally has become a fan favourite and a highlight of the ERC season. With a strong team behind us, we look forward to continuing to deliver world-class rallying,” says Anna Nordkvist, CEO of Royal Rally of Scandinavia.

“For NeH, this is a major commitment. We’ve chosen to invest long-term in Royal Rally of Scandinavia because we see its potential – both as a sporting spectacle and as a public event. The foundation has been laid during the first years, and now the journey continues,” says Peter Holm, CEO of NeH and owner of Royal Rally of Scandinavia AB.

“Royal Rally of Scandinavia has become a cornerstone of the FIA ERC calendar. The fast, technical stages, strong organisation and massive public interest make it a benchmark among European rallies. We look forward to working together for the next three years,” says Iain Campbell, FIA ERC Championship Manager at WRC Promoter.

The 2025 edition provided further proof of the rally’s success. With national TV broadcasts on SVT and TV4, a global audience of over 4 million TV viewers, and 19 million digital impressions, the event has solidified its position as one of the most popular rallies in the ERC. Engagement across social media rose by 77% compared to the previous year, and video views more than doubled to over 16 million.
